Straight outta the Pacific Northwest, Emily Katz is tapping into the eco-fashion trinity with her label of the same name: sustainable textiles, handmade designs and clothing for all shapes and sizes. We love the use of unexpected colors in this new Fall 2008 line she’s calling “In Whispers.”
Though not yet widely available online (Etsy has a few things as does the indefatigable online boutique Nimli), there’s an extensive list of shops in your metropolitan area where you can find her.
What do we love the least about Emily Katz? That she gets to be a part of the blossoming Northwest and Canadian eco-fashion movement that, unlike most things, is lagging here in NY. What do we love best about Emily Katz? That she supports her peers, makes artwork, music and has a food blog, and overall makes her Portlandish aesthetic an institution, not just a label.
