A.k.a… transparent excuse to put up photos of Lindsay Lohan and other deliciously good-looking celebrities, including the Pope. Here it is, the best of celebrity eco-fashion recap, Summer 2008:

5. We had Natalie Portman launch vegan shoes and grace the Project Runway runway on a very special ecopisode of the show. I wish the shoes were cuter and I wish that they had made a bigger deal out of the whole sustainable fabrics thing, but hey, at least it happened. Natalie was graceful as usual.

4. Leo starts selling watches to help the environment. Apparently these Jaeger Le-Coultre watches are made out of diamonds from Mars and unicorn horns because they sold for almost $500K each – the proceeds of which going to old Leo’s environmental Fund with the California Community foundation. Save up because they’re going to auction this fall.

3. Kim Kardashian starts wearing things like this t-shirt. It’s pretty cool when small-time celebrities who have absolutely nothing to do with environmental activism or awareness about global warming in general get snapped in t-shirts like these – it’s an excuse for the planet to get some ridiculous press…kind of like her reality show which was basically an excuse to put moving pictures of Kardashian booty on the telly. Not that we’re complaining…

2. The Pope, pictured here in ermine hat, considers whether he should be wearingthings like fur. Popes get to wear all the fashon taboos, like red velvet and white after labor day and fur. I almost want his peons to accidentally recycle the petition against his furry fashion faux-pas.

1. This summer saw Lindsay Lohan swapping old clothes at the Visa Swap UK charity event in London. Getting over a commonplace addiction to fashionable designer clothing, Lohan slums it in London and helps people swap used clothing – making the very important link between sustainability and second-hand stuff.
