Yesterday there was a torrential downpour in New York and I was cursing my Keds because it felt like walking around with a couple of sponges glommed onto my feet.
If only I had been wearing Melissa sustainable plastic shoes from Brazil, everything would have been ok. I’ll admit that it’s a little scary that they’re made of PVC. However it’s an extremely friendly, low toxic and soft version of PVC, and the factory compensates by recycling 99% of their waste and paying workers a fair, above-average salary. And, of course, it’s vegan.
Now the fun part is that plastic sandals and jellies are a thing of the past (though these ones are particularly cute) but what about plastic kitten heels! And plastic wedges! A bit more cutting edge, I’d venture to say…
You can buy online at Kaight (or just go there if you live in NY like me), you can buy online from the Melissa online store, and they’re also available at boutiques everywhere.
